David Thompson brings his good friend Andy Ricker to town to cook

Long Chim Sydney, located at the corner of Pitt Street and Angel Place, invites you to come and join Andy Ricker and David Thompson for a one-off lunch of Northern Thai food.

Andy’s restaurants, including Pok Pok in NYC and Portland, are renowned from coast to coast in the US. They have a cult following with the locals and have been acknowledged by Michelin with a star and by the James Beard Foundation awards.

Andy fell in love with Thailand and its food on a visit thirty years ago, just as David did. While David settled in Bangkok, Andy became fascinated by the north, and in particular Chiang Mai, where he spends a good part of each year.

“I have known Andy for too many years” explains David. “A great friend with a lot in common: a love of Thailand, cooking and the occasional night out on rice hooch! So it’s only right that Andy is the first chef to be invited to cook at Long Chim.”
